Claiming Your Sovereignty

As the world shifts and changes in profound ways, it is now more important than ever to stand strong in our truth and in our light. Many of us are awakening to ever-deepening levels of awareness and to a greater understanding of our life path and purpose. The veil is being lifted, and while we are all connected, the ways we each experience this unveiling depends on our unique path. This increasing clarity and awareness often happens layer by layer; we gain greater insights as we are ready to receive and understand them. As we gain new perspectives, such as an awareness of who we truly are and who we are meant to be in this lifetime (understanding that this can evolve throughout our lives as we grow), staying in our lane and staying in our light is so important, especially in the current energetic landscape.

Maintaining our connection to the heart and practicing compassion and kindness are some of the most powerful ways we can navigate the world and our own lives. Our connection to the heart allows us to stayed attuned to our intuition and our highest guidance so we can make the best choices and live in alignment with our truth. From that place of alignment, we become aware of our true power and gain the clarity that we are already free; we are already sovereign. Knowing this helps us to stand strong in our integrity and navigate life in a way that is right for us. It guides the thoughts we think, which create our reality and inform the decisions that we make. It’s the difference between being under the influence of our higher power or not.

It can be helpful to remind ourselves of our inherent sovereignty anytime we realize we are feeling oppressed, controlled, powerless, or helpless. We cannot be controlled unless we allow ourselves to be, because true power comes from within. A simple yet effective mantra is: I am already free. I am already sovereign. I am the creator of my own reality. Focusing on those words while breathing deeply, sitting with the intention, seeing yourself as sovereign, and really feeling your own power can stop the momentum of unwanted feelings. Coming back to this practice over and over, as often as you need to, helps shift your energy and beliefs over time through focused effort, concentration, and practice.

Remembering our inner power and inherent freedom helps us to flow with the heart-centered connection we have to the highest aspects of ourselves. When we become aware of our sovereignty and true inner strength, we can respect the freedom and individuality of others, whether or not we agree with their choices. We are ultimately and primarily responsible for ourselves, the ways in which we navigate the world, and the choices that we make. Claiming responsibility for our own alignment and choices is a way of claiming our sovereignty and standing in our individual power and integrity.

Knowing Your Worthiness

Each one of us is worthy. The only thing that holds us back from that knowledge is ourselves. We are all here to learn and grow, and part of that process involves making mistakes. We can all look back at choices we made with the clarity of hindsight and recognize what the better choice might have been. But did we learn from the situation? That is what is most important.

It doesn’t serve us to hold onto regret or guilt; those emotions only keep us stuck in the past and block us from moving forward and experiencing the happiness we all deserve. It is helpful to look back to acknowledge what a situation taught us, but not to wallow in the negatives. Forgiving ourselves is so important. It is just as important to forgive others and to let go of resentment, which also keep us tied to the past in ways that are unhealthy and prevent us from experiencing the beauty life has to offer.

When you make a mistake, acknowledging it and setting the intention to release it with love and forgiveness to yourself is a powerful way to begin moving forward. Using a similar process to forgive others also helps clear those energies and blockages. The more we forgive ourselves and others, the more we can connect to our sense of self-worth and to an understanding of the unique value we have to offer, both to ourselves and to the world. Now is a time of tremendous karmic clearing, so trust your intuition if you feel like you need to make something right with somebody to clear the energy.

The more we heal, the more we strengthen our connection to what is real, to what is within us—our divine, sacred energy. When we remember that we are sourced from the divine, it is easy to recognize why each one of us is worthy. That is not to say that we are all worthy in the same way, because our individuality means we each have something unique to offer. Every one of us is here to show up in a specific way. By connecting more strongly to our sense of self, we ground further in the knowing of our unique, individual value.

Knowing that we are worthy—of happiness, of thriving, of living a joyful and abundant life—creates powerful shifts in our mindset and in our lives. This knowing guides us along the path to better understanding the reasons we are here and the powerful ways we can show up for ourselves and others. It really changes everything. Our eyes open to new clarity, awareness, and opportunities, and we begin to see ourselves and the world around us in a new light. Every experience and encounter becomes sacred and is an opportunity for joyful expansion, connection, and a chance to create or share or learn something meaningful.
