Soul Cards Tarot by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
This month, we are set up for success before a major shake-up. We’ve been doing the energetic work to prepare ourselves for a better future, and it pays off big time. Two tens make their appearance this month, which tells us something is ending. These endings are necessary and positive. The Ten of Pentacles says we’re in a good place materially so that, when the Ten of Swords arrives at the end of the month, we’re prepared to let go of what is ending. What’s happening is happening quickly, says the Eight of Wands, and going with the flow is ultimately the best way through.
Q1: Overall energies of April: Six of Pentacles
The Six of Pentacles is a card of balance, stability, and harmony in the physical. Things are coming into balance in more evident ways this month. As spring ushers in new growth in the Northern Hemisphere, so too is April bringing abundant manifestations and opportunities that are making their appearance. As we tend to them and nurture them, soon they will be ripe for the picking.
Q2: Week 1: Ten of Pentacles
The Ten of Pentacles is a card of earthly fulfillment and abundance. Ten is a number of completion and fulfillment and this card says we have all we need. Taking satisfaction in what we have and spending time in appreciation draws to us more of what we are appreciating. This card can be related to finances, work, home, or career, and this week could see us purchasing a home, receiving an allotment of money, getting a new job, starting or making progress with a business, or simply gaining the realization that we already have all we have been asking for. It can be helpful to take a step back and remember when we wanted what we now have.
Q3: Week 2: Nine of Wands
This figure on this card in traditional RWS decks is shown with a bandaged head, standing alone and holding a staff, poised in defense before eight other wands or staves. This figure has seen much and won the battle, and has the scars to prove it. They stand guard, ensuring their protection. This card can be a reminder of how far we have come, how much we have triumphed over, and it can also guide us to strengthen our boundaries energetically and otherwise. Our beliefs and expectations inform our experience, so when we believe we are safe and self-sufficient, we are. This card indicates victory, success, courage, and reclaiming one’s power. We may gain sudden realization of how we’ve been giving our power away without realizing it. Once we have the understanding, we are empowered to make the change and take back our power to stand in our strength.
Q4: Week 3: King of Wands
The King of Wands brings success and good fortune of all kinds. He is a master creator at the top of his game. He is wise and fair and creative. Whatever this week brings, it will turn out well. For manifestations we’re working on, this card reveals positive and beneficial outcomes. We’re making good headway, and may begin seeing evidence of our progress, if not full-blown manifestations. Coming from the stability of the Six of Pentacles and the Ten of Pentacles, and the strength and victorious outcomes of the Nine of Wands, the King of Wands follows in a progression that signifies taking control of our own lives by shaping things as we wish, being the deliberate creators we’re here to be, and aligning with the desired outcomes.
Q5: Week 4: Ten of Swords
The second ten to make its appearance this month, this card signals the end of a painful cycle. Something has come to a close, and it’s good that it has. This is a necessary ending, one that we may need to heal from but that will yield rich rewards in terms of lessons learned. The painful lessons of this cycle have caused us to grow and expand and get super clear on what we do want and what we don’t want. The lessons of this time will help us to shore up our understanding of our own strength, worthiness, and capabilities—if not immediately, then certainly over time.
Q6: Guidance for April: Eight of Wands
The message of this card is to flow with the fast-moving energies! Things can change on a dime this month, but it’s all for the greater good. Trusting that things are always working out for us is the best approach. We may find that new understandings reveal themselves swiftly and unexpectedly, but once we see them, we can’t unsee them. This is a shake-up type of energy that is much-needed. What isn’t working will crumble quickly. What isn’t a vibrational match will no longer be part of our experience. This is a transitional type of energy that we can align with by pivoting to what is better for us and shifting our focus away from what doesn’t. Focusing in the energy of the solution helps us line up with and receive solutions and resolutions.
Soul Cats Tarot by Leeza Robertson and Adam Oehlers Image by Victoria Constantino
This deck interview is based on the spread and corresponding questions by Katey Flowers.
Soul Cats Tarot is the newest deck by prolific author and deck creator, Leeza Robertson. The gorgeous illustrations are from UK-based artist Adam Oehlers. This deck releases from Llewellyn in April 2022 in the US and in May 2022 in Canada and the UK.
It was a pleasure to sit with this deck for an interview. A deck interview is a wonderful way to get to know the personality of a deck. In my experience working with tarot and oracle cards, messages arrive in different ways from different decks, which can color our perspective and interpretation of a reading.
After working with Soul Cats for a few days, I found it to have a strong healing aspect. It also provided a new (to me) way of looking at the cards through the interpretations written in the guidebook. The artwork is intriguing and captures the essence of the cats and their relation to each card. So, without further ado, the interview:
Q: What can you teach us?
A: The Fool
The teachings of this deck offer fresh wisdom and new approaches, present new ways of thinking, and can provide guidance for the journey ahead. Every day is a new beginning, I am reminded, and our power is always in the now. Where there are new beginnings, this deck can be a touch point along the journey. It’s the guide that says, Take my hand, I’ll show you the way, and then I’ll show you how to find it for yourself.
Q: Describe yourself.
A: Justice
Where justice is an equalizer, this deck balances the scales, bringing clarity where there is confusion and harmony where there is chaos. More than simply shining a light on the truth, it provides understandings that help us to attain balance in our understanding and from there, to forge a better path ahead.
Q: Describe your audience.
A: Page of Swords
This card portrays a dreamer, a visualizer, someone creating a new path that originated long ago, perhaps with dreams and goals established in youth. Do journeys begin in the mind or the heart? The suit of Swords relates to the mental realm, and can have to do with where we are focusing. The Page of Swords tells of new beginnings gestating in the mind.
Q: How can we work together?
A: Temperance
This deck can help with tapping into our own power and magic. Temperance specifically calls attention to opposing forces and may ask us to consider how we can unite those forces or use them both to our advantage. It also asks us to relax and flow to let the magic in. This deck encourages balance and helps provide perspective, all the while pointing us back to the greatest source of knowledge, which is within.
Q: Your strengths
A: The Sun
This deck’s potent capacity for delivering messages and energies of healing, along with its words and images, can be a balm to the heart, providing us with peace and the understanding we need to reach a place of greater harmony. This deck provides illumination and clarity, which we can make best use of from a place of receptivity. It has a sunny, cheerful personality and is a source of wisdom that can guide us to improvements.
Q: Your weaknesses
A: The Star
This deck won’t (and no deck can) do the work for you. It’s up to each of us to tap into our own inner knowledge and guidance. True radiance comes from within, and when we find that luminous place within, we shine from there. We can use this deck’s guidance to gain clarity and perspective, but from there, the rest is up to us. However, this is less of a weakness than an aspect. This card underscores the message that the deck will show you the way, but the rest is up to you.
Q: Our potential together
A: Two of Swords and Knight of Cups
This deck provides a new perspective that can help in broadening one’s outlook. We can ruminate on its unique teachings and how they might apply to our own lives. Feeling into its messages and what they have to teach us can provide deeper clarity and understanding. Above all, this deck rewards contemplation. When working with it, really sitting with its messages and using it as a meditation or journaling tool can yield valuable results.
Accurate AF Tarot by Prism + Fleur Design Studio Image by Victoria Constantino
This month takes us on a journey that begins with our emotional state and where we are focusing in week one, and culminates with the forward-moving energies of The Chariot in week four. March is a three month, and three is a number of manifestation. The strong energies coming in for March are those of making choices and setting goals, and this month and beyond, the universe is asking us to enjoy the process of creation. New things are ready to take shape. This is a hands-in-the-clay time, in which we may find ourselves especially guided to mould the possibilities into something new, which may feel like the next logical step on our journey. We get to be creative and have fun with it. Letting the imagination soar can be deeply rewarding.
Overall energies of March: Two of Wands
The Two of Wands resonates with choices, balance, co-creative partnership (with one’s own higher self or with others), and enthusiasm. This month, we may feel especially motivated to set sight on our goals and keep our focus and actions aligned with our desired outcomes. New partnerships and collaborations could manifest this month, and we may be setting new goals. We could find ourselves realizing we have outgrown certain aspects or choices that once served us and instead begin navigating toward what is more in alignment with who we are now. If the joy is in the journey, the Two of Wands encourages us to enjoy the process of figuring out what we want (and not how we think it should happen for us or how it should take shape, as that is the work of the universe). Playing in the imagined reality of the state desired can take us far.
Q1: Five of Cups
The journey this month begins with self-awareness. The Five of Cups is a card of focusing on losses rather than what still fills our cups. Our guidance may be to catch ourselves in thoughts of lack, and to instead pivot to focusing on what we are grateful for. What we focus on grows, and we always get to choose what we give our attention to. Changing habits of thought takes time, persistence, focus, dedication, and practice. Beating up on ourselves for any reason puts us back in the lack energy. Finding things to appreciate about ourselves and the world around us gets the momentum going in positive directions.
Q2: Two of Cups
Cups are all about the heart, and this two can indicate we are finding or improving emotional balance or strengthening the connection with the intuition, higher self, or relationships with others. We may be making new, harmonious connections this week or finding deeper meaning in our current relationships, whether those are with friends, family, clients, collaborators, or others in our lives. After last week’s emotional awareness and guidance to pivot, the Two of Cups says we are successfully shifting into better harmony and balance. Emotional renewal and an increased positive momentum will help us gain traction toward what we want to manifest.
Q3: Spirit of Wands
The Spirit of Wands corresponds with the Knight of Wands in a traditional RWS deck. Like The Chariot for next week, this card relates to motivation, fast-moving energy, and willpower. This week may find us ignited with inspiration, passion, and enthusiasm. This is sometimes a card of receiving messages, news, and manifestations that bring change. Taking inspired action can lead us to fun, new possibilities, and possibly the first steps on a new path that is glittering with possibility. Remaining in a state of positive expectation can help us to stay in the receiving mode. Keeping the vibe high and staying positive is key. Confidence can take us far.
Q4: The Chariot
The Chariot indicates a quickly moving energy that has gathered momentum and is hurtling full steam ahead. Whatever we have been giving our attention to is reaching a state of culmination and preparing to manifest. We may need to make swift changes to stay on course, but through our willpower, we can reach our destination and overcome any challenges or obstacles. We may need to be either flexible or firm in our decisions and tune into our intuition to determine what feels right at each turn, trusting that we will attain the desired outcome. While this week may bring challenges, we have the ability to navigate them in ways that are perfect for us so that we end up precisely where we’re meant to be.
Guidance for March: Ace of Wands
This card is as much about new beginnings and manifestation as it is about focusing the will with deliberate intention. New ideas and growth are indicated this month, and our guidance may be to flow with those ideas and find ways to get into the receiving mode. Finding the flow state through doing what brings us joy can benefit us tremendously, both in recalibrating when we need to pivot and in receiving inspired action. Spending time with those we love and doing things we enjoy, as well as changing habits of routine and doing something out of the ordinary this month, can bring us new experiences and shake things up a bit. This enlivens us and keeps our energy fresh.
Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
This month, potent and ultimately positive change is taking place. The supporting energies this month are helping us to step into improved ways of living, thinking, and being, and we may notice that our perception and awareness are heightened as never before. Our spiritual gifts may be increasing, especially as we do the inner work, which may mean releasing outdated beliefs and aligning with our truth in more powerful ways.
Part of aligning with what resonates may include taking up activities that bring us joy and inspiration. These may be solo activities or, as February is the second month and two is associated with partnerships, we may be collaborating with others on projects that bring excitement and fulfillment. The Emperor and the Ten of Pentacles appear to guide us to find our strength and are supporting us in reaching a solid rock upon which we can build.
Q1: Overall energies for the month of February: Ten of Pentacles and The Emperor
There is great abundance available to us, whether through a new client or employer, or through a business. Trusting the intuition and letting the heart lead us in new directions this month can pay off handsomely. Trusting new ideas may also be key to success. The Emperor can represent an energy (such as that of a business or new endeavor), person, or institution of some sort, and it is one that is steady, strong, solid, stable, reliable, and grounded. This is a rock we can build something magnificent upon, something that will always be there for us and that will provide.
Something may be getting ready to pay off big time. The best path forward is to release resistance, and get into the mindset and vibration of allowing so we can receive what’s ready to manifest. Strengthening in the knowing that we are powerful creators and that we are capable of receiving and living whatever we wish is like the secret alchemical formula that transforms energy into manifested things, situations, and circumstances. This month, we have the great opportunity to uplevel and to shift into steadier circumstances and move into what we’ve been asking for. We’re reminded that our power is in the now and we create from every now moment.
Q2: Week 1: King of Wands
What can we learn from the king? The King of Wands is a wise leader, powerful in his own right and fair, a masterful creator of his own reality. Like this figure, we can learn to first master our own will, our capacity as creators, and our ability to navigate the world by being strong and steady in the knowing of our power. From there, all things flow. The king carries inspired energy, the power and fire of the will, the freedom of choice, and the impetus to follow the desires of the heart.
This week, we could benefit from exploring what lights us up, what inspires us, what brings us joy. Making the decision to set aside even small increments of time to do what we love on a regular and consistent basis can add up to something much bigger down the line. Mastery is the result of focus, dedication, and continued practice. We can start the ball rolling on something that will become bigger and better over time. Confidence will take us far.
Q3: Week 2: Nine of Wands
This week, we can benefit from considering how far we’ve come. Looking at how far we’ve come can remind us of how much better things can be. Through perseverance and tenacity, we’ve overcome so much to be where we are today. The person we are now is the result of everything we’ve learned in the past and the culmination of our experiences. We are strong, perhaps stronger than we know, and we benefit from keeping our boundaries strong as well. It’s healthy to have strong boundaries, and it’s okay (and sometimes necessary) to say no. This week may find us assessing our obligations and duties against what our heart wants. The heart is our truest compass, and it will never steer us wrong.
How do we feel when we think about or do something? That feeling response is our barometer, the one that lets us know how in alignment (or not) something is for us. Once we’ve identified where we want to go, we can trust that our inner being, our source, is lining it up for us. There is something better for us, and it’s on its way to us the moment we ask for it. We ask vibrationally, and we do this all the time. Simply being happy opens the valve to let in what is ready to manifest for us. We are strong and powerful in our joy. Where the Nine of Wands is about determination and strength, it can also ask us to strengthen our knowing of who we are within so we can confidently move through the world from that place.
Q4: Week 3: Six of Pentacles
Sixes are concerned with harmony, balance, home, and family. This week’s guidance is to seek balance and harmony, and to place our attention on the home, relationships, and domestic concerns. Good news and new opportunities may be coming through this week, and may be something that fulfills our needs, hopes, dreams, or goals (and maybe all of the above!). This six indicates generosity and abundance, whether we are giving or receiving it. Giving and receiving joyfully always benefits us, and it’s almost certain that we will be both the giver and receiver at different points in our experience. Basking in appreciation for what we’ve given and received can help move the needle.
Giving and receiving encourages the flow of abundance, and releasing resources (such as spending money or selling a home) makes room for more resources to flow to us, as long as we are not blocking it with beliefs or resistance. Aligning with the more improved circumstances this week can benefit us greatly, whether that’s seeing and feeling ourselves in the situation or manifestation we wish to move into next or shoring up our beliefs so they match our desires. Simply through reaching alignment with our inner being, we can quickly receive everything we’ve been asking for, which often arrives through an inspired idea received in a place of alignment.
Q5: Week 4: The Hierophant
We may find ourselves shifting our beliefs and assessing or reassessing beliefs we’ve carried with us that are no longer resonant. Throughout life, we learn from the experiences we engage in, and these teach us and help us to move into new understandings that are more aligned with who we are now. This week, we may find that a spotlight is shining on what is out of resonance for us and what we’ve outgrown, whether those are relationships, practices, or ideologies. We may also be gaining traction on deeper understandings of self that aren’t necessarily so obvious.
Five, which is the number of The Hierophant, is associated with change, and there are changes taking place this week, perhaps shifts of great significance. Something may be hovering beneath the surface, unseen but felt. Our senses may be preparing to heighten, awareness is increasing, and transformations like those within a chrysalis are taking place, potent and hidden. Something may be preparing to surface from the subconscious for clearing and subsequent healing, and our spiritual gifts may be preparing to reach the next level of awakening, awareness, or activation.
Q6: Guidance for February: Ace of Swords and Death
New ideas bring clarity and an end to old, outdated beliefs, ways of thinking and living, and energies we have outgrown. Likewise, endings bring new clarity, expansion, understanding, and greater awareness—both awareness of ourselves and awareness of the universe and physical world in which we live. The Death card brings endings that are necessary and positive, although they may not always seem so great at the outset. As we traverse the path in the wake of what’s gone, we’ll find ourselves in a new realm of discovery and enlightened understanding that helps us to align to our deepest truth and wisdom.
Our guidance this month is to allow what happens to happen, to let go of the desire to control outcomes, to flow, and to take the path of least resistance. Understanding that we have already vibrationally asked for what we wish and that it is already becoming, as soon as we ask for it, can help us to lean into trust in stronger, more meaningful ways, and use our energy to focus more effectively, efficiently, meaningfully, productively, and fruitfully on living from every now moment, which is where our true power always is.
Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
This month brings groundbreaking changes. The plates are shifting beneath our feet and the results are transformative. We can support these changes by letting go of the past and by strengthening our knowing of our inherent freedom. Remembering how truly free and powerful we are serves us so very well now, as does releasing what does not serve our highest good and opening our hearts to receive what is ready for us. We are getting ready to step into a more powerful iteration of ourselves and we are expanding magnificently. Our guidance now is to take the path of least resistance and flow with trust, knowing that everything is always working out for us and we are always flowing toward what is aligned with our highest good.
Q1: The overall energies of January: The Tower
Something is getting ready to leave our lives on a grand scale. Weak foundations are crumbling and things are shifting. Preparations have been a while in the making and the end results are getting ready to make themselves known, whether to manifest in the physical or become apparent within. What is making its exit now is doing so to prepare us to step into higher levels and embrace an improved way of living and experiencing life. This could show up in the form of greater precision in our work, more aligned application of the knowledge we hold within, our intuition becoming evident in manifested wisdom, and in other ways according to our path and where we are upon it.
We can expect to start seeing and feeling these ground-level changes this month, and they may manifest in how we perceive ourselves and others and in the degree of knowledge we are able to access. Blocks are dissolving and outdated belief systems are on their way out. We are stepping into higher levels of self-confidence and as a result, are shifting our vibration. This attracts new experiences that align with wherever we are vibrationally, and experiences, circumstances, relationships, and situations that are no longer in alignment with us pass out of our experience; this is the natural way of things. As new, better ways are preparing to be born, what isn’t in resonance with us in the ever-evolving palette from which we manifest is falling away easily or possibly in more vivid and dramatic ways.
Q2: Week 1: Seven of Pentacles
Now the work before us is becoming more clear, even if it feels as natural as breathing. What is in resonance with our truth emanates from within us like light from a flame: it is the light of who we are, and it cannot be hidden any longer. A shell that once contained us as we gestated is now shuddering loose and falling away. As the pieces crumble, the light shines through, from within us and from without, no longer obscured, and we realize both what it is we are capable of and who we have been all along.
The light that comes through is truth: the truth of all that is and the truth of who we are. The manifested results can manifest as higher levels of self-awareness. This energetic movement is as powerful as plates shifting in the earth—magnificent, powerful, and game changing. The work that we do, whether on the physical or the spiritual plane, can move mountains. Once we realize what we are capable of, we are an unstoppable force. The old adage of hiding one’s light under a bushel applies; the sun would not think for a moment that it is small and insignificant—its light gives life to the world, and so does ours.
Q3: Week 2: Ten of Wands reversed
This week is about letting go. When we release our burdens, when we release the things we have carried that are not in resonance with who we are and do not serve us for where we are going, we make room for more light to enter. Lighter, we become more of who we truly are and can move forward faster and see more clearly where it is we are meant to go. When we carry a burden, our focus is almost entirely on the burden. But once we set it down and realize it is not ours to carry, that there is no need for us to carry it, and that it does not serve us to carry it any longer, we must rest.
Once rested, we are renewed, restored, refreshed, and we can move ahead with purpose and clarity. We are guided to set intentions to release what does not serve our highest good and trust that, even if we don’t know the full weight, nature, or extent of the burdens we carry, our inner being, allies, and guides are working with us to help us let go. When we release resistance, all things become possible. We can almost see it begin to shift. This week brings powerful transformations that begin within, that begin with the decision to let go.
Q4: Week 3: Two of Cups
Harmonious partnerships are more possible, are made stronger, and open up to us more rapidly when we have made room for them through letting go. These partnerships can be partnerships with the self (the higher self), with others on the earth plane, or with our allies in the nonphysical. We may be seeing these play out in our lives now in this number 6 year, a year of harmony and peace. We may be sensing what is on the horizon through a stronger alliance with and attunement to our senses, manifesting as a form of psychic awareness, which is actually the result of our tapping into infinite intelligence through aligning with the whole of who we are.
We may also be seeing new partnerships manifesting, the strengthening of existing partnerships and alliances, and new personal relationships developing for us, perhaps unexpectedly. Something new is developing, and it is powerful, harmonious, and beautiful. It restores our faith and trust in ourselves and in others. It rewrites our understanding of what is possible. A new way of partnering with others is coming, and in some cases, it is the unification of energies working harmoniously with one another to create and restore balance, peace, and harmony, both within ourselves and on the planet as a whole. This aids humanity’s ascension and awakens us to greater possibilities and higher levels of being, knowing, consciousness, and awareness, both self-awareness and awareness and understanding of others through unity.
Q5: Week 4: The World
The World is the last card in the major arcana and signifies the end of a major cycle. Something is winding to a close, and this card in the upright position indicates that we have navigated this cycle successfully and it is closing out in positive ways, perhaps with peaceful resolution. Achievements may be felt or make themselves known in the physical. If felt on the subtle levels or sensed, this may be a commendation from our higher self, allies, and guides for a job well done. We have reached new levels of attainment and are now ready to integrate the lessons we have learned. After or during this integration often follows a period of rest in which we are able to pause before moving on to the next cycle.
We may find during this time that we are more aware, that we have moved into new levels of strength, or that our spiritual gifts are now more potent or expanded. These new understandings can manifest in different ways depending on our gifts, what we are ready for, where we are on our journey, our current experience, and the ways in which we are open to receiving, perceiving, and understanding. We may begin to experience life in different ways or realize that our perceptions or perspective has shifted. This card is often associated with fortunate endings and conclusions and we could receive a boon before moving into the next cycle. Trusting that everything is always working out for us is most beneficial to us now.
Q6: Guidance for January: Eight of Swords
We are rising up out of the ashes, the phoenix reborn. We arise transformed, relieved of prior burdens, more self-aware than ever. We realize we cannot be trapped, even in a cycle of our own making, unless we choose it. We are breaking free of bonds; the blindfold is unfurling. We realize how free we truly are and how powerful. We are the masters of our destinies, the creators of our own realities. We devise the world of our own making and it unfolds before us, a carpet rolling out even as we perceive it. As we rise up, our vision stretches out before us, a vista expanding, and we gain the bird’s-eye view.
Now, we can soar, higher than ever before, more free and light and expanded. We fly further faster and come to understand ourselves on deeper levels than we have yet achieved in our human form. The clarity we gain from these new perspectives is the ultimate game-changer, and it is supported by the relief we have and the resulting appreciation for our freedom and our knowledge of it. We now are able to feel deeper gratitude than we would have known had we never explored the contrast. Now, our highest guidance may be to let go of the old as we rise up and let the past crumble as we soar unencumbered.
Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
The numbers in the year 2022 add up to six, which is a number of home, harmony, family, and domesticity. This year, changes, adjustments, and developments will be for the attainment of greater harmony and balance in these areas. We can facilitate the ease of change by going with the flow and following the path of least resistance. This is also a heart-opening year, in which we have the opportunity to open our hearts and discover the great source of our light within. Our attunement to the heart is the further discovery of our truth and of the infinite intelligence from which we spring and of which we are a part.
Discovering oneness and strengthening unity consciousness is another theme of 2022. We may be seeing ourselves in others, now more so than ever. Projecting our light illuminates the way for those who may have lost their own. As we each awaken, we are like points of light shining in the fabric of oneness, wherever we are on the planet. As we each awaken to our truth and as we heal, we send ripples throughout the collective, and our light, healing, and awakening is felt by others. In this way, we lift each other up and we light the way for others to find their own path. As more and more of us discover our light, the whole of humanity is lifted up and ascends further up the scale of consciousness.
January: Ace of Swords
The Ace of Swords is all about clarity and indicates that new ideas are on the horizon. At the beginning of the year, we benefit from setting intentions for the months ahead, establishing clear goals, considering what we want to accomplish, and what we hope to get out of 2022 overall. Where do we want to be by the end of the year? Beginning this new cycle by setting clear intentions establishes the tone for what we manifest through the next twelve months.
It can also be helpful to keep in mind that, as eternal beings, we are always modifying, learning, growing, and shaping our experience, and this includes making changes to our goals that align to who we are becoming as we grow and change. It’s okay to set goals at the start of the year that then change as we do, as our inner being or higher self is always supporting us in getting to where we want to go. Setting intentions at the beginning of the year establishes a way forward that we can finesse and change as we go.
February: Ten of Cups
Tens are numbers of completion and cups are related to the heart, making the Ten of Cups a card of rich rewards, abundance, and emotional fulfillment. Deep, sustainable, long-lasting happiness is on the horizon now and sets us up for a more secure and stable future—one that is heart-led. This emotional abundance is nourishing to all aspects of ourselves, including the heart, mind, body, and soul. When our hearts are nourished, all good and wonderful things flow from there.
Regardless of outer circumstances, we can always tap into the wellspring of infinite abundance that flows from the heart. This is done through softening resistance and attuning to our inner being, whether through meditation or other forms of relaxation. We can also reach this state through accessing high-flying emotions like joy and appreciation. Sarah Wiseman writes, “The heart is the seat of the soul,” and when we tune into the heart, we are tuning into our inner being. We may physically feel something clear and pure flowing from the heart center when we reach this state. Accessing this state of alignment brings forth manifestations, great joy, new ideas, and clarity.
March: Three of Swords
Where there is resistance, pain, or blockages, that is where our work is. Those knives struck through the heart on this card need to come out, first and foremost. It’s time to get rid of the pain and release the past so we can begin to heal. Because like attracts like, if we don’t release those energies, we may unwittingly attract more of the same. It’s time to let go and move on, and do what we need to heal. It is through the wound that the light enters. Once we have sent the energies that do not serve us into the light for clearing and transmutation, we can invite the light of our source within to fill us. This begins a powerful healing and realignment process.
Another approach to the healing process is to simply align with our inner being or higher self. The more we do this, the more we are filled with our own light, and that is where healing takes place. Some may feel more resonance with this method, while other may prefer to take the path mentioned above. Whatever feels right to you is a good way forward. We always benefit from being in our own light and aligning with the source within.
When we heal, and when we are more filled with our own light, we are more readily able to attune to the whole of who we are, take aligned action, and receive what is ready for us. This sets us on a path in which we are moving steadily toward our goals and walking into our highest possible outcomes. On this path, we strengthen in the knowing of our worthiness, our confidence, and our alignment with our true, innate freedom and power. And from this place, we can move through life as the powerful creators we are here to be.

The Page of Pentacles shows us learning something new in the physical realm. This may be a new job or career, financial path, business, or source of income that we are navigating. This is a time of learning, in which we benefit from studying relevant resources, seeking answers to our questions, and doing what is needed to gain a firmer understanding of the new that is in our lives. Practice makes perfect, and, though our first steps may be uncertain or exploratory, with time and practical application, we will start to gain more solid footing.
We are paving the way for our future now, building a stronger basis of understanding so that we are prepared to be our best and move up the ladder when the time comes. We must first do the groundwork before pouring the foundation, and the foundation itself should be strong in order to support whatever we build on top of it. Doing the groundwork is akin to energetic preparation, as everything in existence first began as energy germinated by thoughts and ideas. Creating solid foundations is akin to the preparations we make through learning or study so we can prepare ourselves for a better future.
May: Eight of Cups
The Eight of Cups is a turning away, and it often arrives when we are striking off in new directions. We may be setting the intentions now to go somewhere new or take another path. This card can arrive at various stages of manifestation, which may include walking away from something in order to make room for a new set of circumstances. It can also let us know that our intentions to take a new path are gathering momentum and are beginning to manifest or will soon manifest in our physical reality. We are making inner and outer preparations now.
What is interesting about this card is that cups are associated with the heart and the emotional realm. It often arrives when the heart is ready for something new, and we are making energetic preparations, perhaps even unconsciously, and preparing our hearts for the change that is soon to come. Our inner being always knows where we want to be and where we are in relation to the state desired, and helps guide us every step of the way. It may be especially important now to tune in to our inner guidance so we can receive aligned action steps; then, when it is time to walk away, we will do so in divine right timing, which is the timing that is most aligned for us.
June: The Tower
Last month saw us making significant progress on our intentions to head in new directions, and this month, the impending change has gained sufficient momentum to make way for the new. The old tower crumbles so a new one can be built. What isn’t serving our highest good, and anything that stands in the way of the fulfillment of our goals, is leaving our lives now. This is a clearing of energies on a fundamental, foundational level and it may be karmic or tied to our mission for this lifetime. It could also be connected to what we are manifesting, either intentionally or not.
On the outside, what is crumbling may cause shock, upset, or pain, but it doesn’t have to. Its loss can be a welcome relief or we can choose to see it as something necessary and timely. It depends on how we look at it, and perspective is important. If a structure that has been beloved for generations falls, it is because it was not structurally sound and may have caused harm to those who would have chosen to use it. With the old energy gone, we have a beautiful chance to build something new; the slate is wiped clean and we get to decide exactly what we want to create.
July: Three of Wands
Following on the heels of The Tower, the Three of Wands indicates new manifestations. What left us last month made room for the new energies coming in now. Through our focus and determination—and ideally, also through aligned action, which comes from our inner being or higher self—we are lining up with manifestations borne from our intentions. The goals we set previously are coming to fruition. We may surprise ourselves with how effortlessly we are able to attain our goals. Reaching smaller goals greases the wheels for larger manifestations, as these smaller achievements remind us of how powerful we are as creators of our own realities.
We may also be seeing signs of larger goals arriving through similar manifestations or synchronicities. Because like attracts like and what we focus on grows, we may be seeing manifestations we would consider smaller versions of larger goals coming in. This lets us know a few things—namely, that what we are doing is working and we should continue, and it could also clue us in to resistance we may have to the entirety coming in. While we may look at manifestations as smaller and larger, according to Abraham-Hicks, it is as easy to manifest a castle as a button. Energetically, we can just as easily receive one as we can the other, and the biggest distinction is in what we are allowing. If we believe we will receive it, then we will. We can use the evidence of what is coming to us to make any adjustments to our beliefs and vibration as necessary.
August: Seven of Pentacles
Through diligence, focus, and determination, we will succeed. This card shows us focused on our goals and working to achieve them. Last month brought us manifestations, and now we are working, hands in the clay, to mould and shape what has arrived. Working with the clay, we persist until it looks as we wish, and then we take the next aligned action steps. This month, we benefit from allowing our intuition to guide us and from going within. Taking breaks allows us perspective. When we are up close to our creations for a while, it can benefit us to step back for brief periods of time every so often so we can see the bigger picture, or view our creations in another light.
This allows us to course correct if needed and determine our next best steps. Flowing with the ideas that feel good in the moment as we do this work can help us to elevate our creations. This is a good time to set intentions around making our creations the best they can be. Sometimes this may mean learning new methods and techniques, or considering different approaches. Thinking outside of the box can help us in unexpected ways. What we are creating now has the potential to serve us well for the future and can lead us to wonderful new interactions, goals, and creations. Take others’ advice with a grain of salt, if at all, and trust your intuition above all else.
September: Ten of Wands reversed
Lay down your burdens, says the Ten of Wands reversed. Whether you need to take time for yourself, reassess your schedule or obligations, do some inner work, take a step back from things for a while, or make significant changes in your life, this card says it’s time to let go and take a close look at the burdens you carry. Some of them may not be yours to carry, some you have carried for so long you forgot you were still carrying them, and some simply need your attention. This month, we can pay special attention to what comes into the spotlight, because it may be surfacing to be cleared. The strong message now is to put yourself first and remember you are not greedy for doing so—we are all in charge of our own experience and are each responsible for what we attract. We live in an attraction-based universe and everything that arrives into our experience, we are attracting.
The first step to releasing burdens can be simply realizing we are carrying them. It doesn’t have to be hard, and just because things have been a certain way for a while doesn’t mean they always have to be that way. Sometimes we have to put ourselves first and sometimes that means changing our perspective, mindset, approach, or methodologies. Sometimes it means healing or setting clearer boundaries. It will be different for us all depending on our life path and experience, and depending on where we are in the moment. It’s time to take a close look at what isn’t working and what needs to be done to shift it. Often, through our attention upon it, it will begin to shift naturally, as long as we are not putting up resistance to change. We owe it to ourselves to allow the positive change to flow to us that is meant for us.
October: Queen of Pentacles
The Queen of Pentacles represents abundance, prosperity, and happiness. She is a woman in her power who is successful in all she endeavors to do. Experience is a great teacher, and this queen has learned much. She is now in a secure position and enjoys all life has to offer. She encourages us to look around and find things to be grateful for, as this practice, when done sincerely, attracts more for us to be grateful for. What we focus on grows, and this figure is a teacher by example. The position she has achieved she has reached through her belief in herself and not only her ability to attract abundance, but also her knowing that she is worthy and deserving of it, as we all are.
The queen’s message is that we are all here to create the reality we wish and that each one of us deserves to live in happiness, freedom, and prosperity. The strong message is also one regarding our own personal sovereignty. When we remember who we are, we remember how powerful we are and the true freedom in which we can live. When we align with our higher self or inner being, we are aligned with the Source energy part of us that is eternal, magnificent, and a powerful force of creation. We each have the ability to live in our power and in the freedom that is an aspect of our highest truth.
November: Six of Cups
The Six of Cups can be a card of nostalgia and one of remembering the path we traveled before. Acknowledging memories that come to the surface and exploring the messages they may have for us can be a powerful source of support and perspective. Where did we begin and where are we now? What are we still holding onto that it is time to let go of? What dreams and goals have we set aside that it would benefit us to reassess and embrace anew? Sometimes the Six of Cups is a card of looking back, acknowledging, and healing, and sometimes it carries a message of remembrance. Remember those dreams you set aside? Did you give up on them and if so, why? Remember you can achieve all you set your mind to accomplish and you are worthy, capable, and deserving of reaching your mostly deeply held desires.
People from our past may reappear now and we can feel into the significance of their presence at this time to determine what our intuition is telling us about their re-emergence into our experience. Are they here so we (or they) can gain closure? How does their presence make us feel? If we feel triggered, this can be information from within showing us where we need to heal. Attuning to our intuition is beneficial, as it is an important source of guidance for us and can help us parse out deeper meanings and better understand ourselves and others. Flowing gently with the path of least resistance and in accordance with our own highest good is indicated now. A message, one that can help us, may be ready to come through. This is a time of assessment and recalibration, a time in which we can can determine a new path forward.
December: The High Priestess
As the year winds to a close, The High Priestess guides us inward to tap into our power and align with our source of truth. We may be ready to attune to higher levels of spiritual wisdom and strengthen our spiritual gifts. Going within this month aligns us with the season, whether it is the rest and recharging of winter in the Northern Hemisphere or the outward joy of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Changes are germinating deep within and they are to our benefit. Attuning to the inner world is a strong theme this month.
“Know thyself” is the clear and resounding message. We are always learning more about ourselves and it is part of our core nature to do so. We are each part of the collective, a point in the fabric of the whole that is One, All, Source. The experiences of each one are a way for the One to know itself. There are deep mysteries within that link us all and individuation is only a construct. When all the world’s a stage, our recognizing it as such brings us to heightened levels of awareness. We can rise above for brief moments in time and yet stay grounded in the experience that causes our expansion. There is much for us to learn, discover, and know.
Overall guidance for the year: The Moon
This year, we are encouraged to pierce the veil of illusion, and to go within to find the secrets of the universe, which flow forth from the heart. Tapping into infinite intelligence is as easy as aligning with the source within. This year, we may ask: What is truth, and what is illusion? Knowing that our deepest truth lies within, we can go there to find all the answers we seek.
The moon itself reflects the light of the sun, and its phases reveal varying degrees of light and shadow. It is a reminder that the world is a mirror reflecting back to us what we are projecting. Viewed in another way, the law of attraction assembles the components that are a match to our vibration, and what shows up in our lived experience is a reflection of where we are vibrationally.
This is a year of taking stock, of considering what is showing up for us so we can make any necessary adjustments to our vibration. This sets us on a track to strengthen our awareness of our vibrational offering so we can create a platform from which we align with our intentions, and from there, we can more directly create what we desire simply by setting the intention and then lining up with it. This takes practice and continual adjustment, as it is a process of ongoing, intentional calibration and recalibration to our intentions. As the results show up in our experience, we will realize how very worthwhile this work is and our outward lives will gradually reflect our inner desires.
Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
The eclipse on December 3/4 is bringing transformation and clarity on a whole new level. We can expect to gain insights and experience change where change is needed. This month’s energies are supporting us with manifestion and opening to greater abundance. We are also guided to rest and spend quality time engaging in self-care; it is important to make time for ourselves, even when it feels impossible to do so, as the space we carve out for ourselves can (and should) be healing, refreshing, and deeply restorative. We may find ourselves needing to summon our strength and courage in order to protect what we hold dear and strengthen and fortify our boundaries, reinforcing them when necessary.
Q1: The overall energies of December:The Empress
This month, energies of abundance and leisure are available to us. We can take advantage of opportunities for rest and relaxation and flow with each moment, as there is always the possibility of making new, happy memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. This month especially, we will benefit from knowing when to stop and take a breather, when to slow down, and when to make good (productive) use of any excess energy. Planning and preparation are like love notes we send to our future selves, as we later get to reap the rewards of the groundwork we laid earlier.
Giving and spending time with loved ones can prove deeply rewarding now. We may find ourselves tapping into energies of nurture to share with others or benefiting from receiving loving, caring support, and emotional warmth. It can be beneficial to look for moments we can treasure, find things to appreciate, and spend moments in gratitude. The Empress’s guidance may be to take time out to do what encourages feelings of luxury, as this is a form of self-care and, much like joy and appreciation, is a way of building energetic momentum that can aid in the manifestation of our goals.
Q2: Week 1: The Chariot
The Chariot ushers in swiftly moving energies this week. We may find we need to course-correct and shift the reins as needed to stay on track as we are quickly carried onward, whether onto new paths or closer to our goals. We could be sensing something coming into being or about to manifest, and may catch glimpses of the new arriving. Going with the flow and taking the path of least resistance can be ways of aligning with the things that are lining up for us. Following what feels good and focusing there can produce dramatic results quickly; we may be surprised what this approach can do, especially this week.
The eclipse on December 3/4 brings energies of transformation and the potential for great change. This change can illuminate the unexpected and reveal something hidden that we didn’t know was there so we can send it on its way and welcome in what is better. Sometimes, what is illuminated is to our benefit, however; what is revealed isn’t always something to be healed or cleared, and a divine gift, spiritual ability, or hidden talent could make itself known. We may also discover new wishes materializing; aligning our intentions with those could create new energetic pathways. This eclipse may bring manifestations and the attainment of long-held goals, and new opportunities that are the next best steps for us and a stop along the way to fulfilling our dreams.
Q3: Week 2:Seven of Wands
On the heels of the powerful solar eclipse, this week may well bring shifts in perspective, new awareness, and deeper understanding. We may need to call on our reserves of courage this week to keep going and to stay aligned with our goals and what we know is right for us. Now is the time to stand strong in our power, and to be confident and assertive. We may need to strengthen our boundaries, be firm, speak up when someone crosses a line, and say no. If old energies or connections reappear this week, it could be to give us the opportunity to respond in a way that is aligned with our truth. Doing so can sometimes be a way of clearing pieces of the past and dissolving connections that do not serve us or who we are now. This week, we could benefit from summoning our better angels, trusting ourselves and our intuition, taking the high road, and leaning into our own strength and sovereignty.
Q4: Week 3:Four of Swords
This week, we’ll benefit from taking a mental break and if possible, a departure from responsibilities, at least for a time. Our guidance is to rest and make space for ourselves, and to remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Periodic rest and breaks are so important, especially in the busier seasons. Plenty of rest and downtime, along with quality time alone to just process can yield valuable rewards later. Meditation can produce great benefits this week, and quieting the mind can soften our resistance so we let in the things and circumstances we have been asking for. Refreshed and restored, we can bring our best to whatever awaits us. Our guidance is to ask ourselves what we truly need and then do what we can to align with it.
Q5: Week 4:Ten of Wands reversed
The Ten of Wands reversed is a strong, clear request to lay down our burdens. Sometimes we can do this with intention as we work through things and clear them, and other times, letting go is a natural byproduct of finding enjoyment in life, engaging in pursuits that bring us happiness, and making positive connections with others. We’re asked this week to lay down what is heavy and to shine a spotlight on what we’ve been carrying, recognizing the things we’ve hauled for so long that we forgot how heavy they were or even that we were carrying them at all. Clearing away the deadwood makes room for the light to enter. Taking time to assess why we’ve been holding onto our burdens can provide the illumination and clarity that show us how to let go and can also reveal a new, better way forward.
Q6: Guidance for December: Nine of Cups
Whatever our external circumstances, we can always find our way to an abundance mindset. This can be as simple as recognizing luxuries wherever we find them in a state of pure appreciation for their beauty and what they offer, even if they aren’t ours (yet). Honoring what we love wherever we find it, without giving any thought to whether or not we have it, it is a way of attracting it to us. This month may pose opportunities for such states of gratitude and we can recognize these as valuable moments that hold keys for us that can unlock something new. Finding any excuse for joy and fun will yield tremendous benefits now, as we are so supported by energies that are working in our favor. December is magical and we are the lucky recipients of its potent, transformational energies.
Accurate Tarot by Prism + Fleur Image by Victoria Constantino
This powerful spread tells a story, one of a journey. On this journey, we begin by focusing our efforts toward our goals and working to achieve them. To get us closer to our goals, we walk away from whatever is holding us back; we may also be walking away from something instinctively or it could be making the preparations to leave on its own, as a part of the natural order and in flow with the universal energies that are always working in our favor. We journey into a new situation, and the old set of circumstances closes out with finality. Soul searching and inner work help us to gain clarity and perspective, and begin to heal. The three eights in this spread tell of a journey to greater abundance, and perhaps a shift to an abundance mindset as we learn to visualize better for ourselves and believe we can have it.
Q1: The overall energies of November: Eight of Pentacles
Resourcefulness and positive potential. The first of three eights in this reading, the Eight of Pentacles shows us working toward a goal and closing in on it because of our focus and efforts, which are yielding results. We may start seeing these results manifest in the physical in large and small ways. Take time to visualize this week and leave the rest to the universe. Trusting that we will receive what we want helps it to arrive with greater speed. Looking at ways to actively work more resourcefully with what we have and with the elements already present in our experience will encourage better ways of achieving our goals. This may involve writing action plans, budgets, and lists of desired achievements.
Q2: Week 1: Eight of Cups
New directions and walking away. Thanks to the momentum we have added to our goals from our focus on them, certain situations may be reaching a state of readiness this week. Doors are closing now so others can open. We’re guided to trust our instincts this week and allow things to line up for us while also putting in the work as we feel guided to do. This could mean making the phone call, submitting the application, or any other action that feels right. When we focus on where we want to be, seeing and feelings ourselves in the situation desired, we begin to head in that direction. Let’s focus there this week instead of looking at where we have been or even looking too closely at where we are. We’re ready for something new and may feel ourselves pulled in that direction. We owe it to ourselves to go where our spirit is calling us. It may be the path to our dreams.
Q3: Week 2:Six of Swords
Resolution and moving on. Where last week, we were walking away, now we’re actively moving to where we want to be. Get ready to climb on board and set sail into the next adventure or take those first steps on a new path. We’re leaving the past behind us and not looking back, heading toward better circumstances and relief, balance, peace, and harmony. Our guidance now is to find the joy in this time of transition, and to allow ourselves the time to reflect and rest. We may have the distinct feeling now of traveling through a certain set of circumstances that are carrying us to our destination. As we rest in the knowing that things are improving, we are more easily able to experience resolution, and to move on physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Q4: Week 3:Ten of Swords
Karmic lessons; it’s only up from here.Where last week saw us navigating away from one reality and into another, this week may see us finalizing certain aspects, and finally reaching a place where we can begin to reflect, process, and just think. In traditional decks, this card often shows a person lying on the ground with ten swords stuck in their back; this symbolism tells us that the worst of the pain, hardship, and struggle is over. An old way of life may be pierced through with swords, something that has passed out of our experience for good. We may find ourselves gaining perspective borne from distance, time, and space, opening our eyes as if for the first time and looking around at this new experience as we see with greater clarity than ever before. Drawing breath as if it were the first in this new life, we may begin to understand with crystal clarity our life purpose, soul mission, or our part in something greater than ourselves.
Q5: Week 4:The Hermit
Contemplation and soul searching.Clarity brings deep knowing and understanding, and this week, our guidance is to spend time in contemplation, which could include meditation, journaling, and working with crystals. Looking within, we may find our greatest inspiration yet and long-sought answers that aid our understanding in powerful ways with far-reaching benefits. Doing this work can put key pieces of a puzzle into place, reveal something of significance, allow us to see the bigger picture, and make connections that feel revelatory. These insights may help us to understand ourselves more and to refine our goals. As we trust ourselves more and strengthen our belief in our ability to create something magnificent, we may find ourselves learning how to dream again, to visualize greater things for ourselves, and to reach higher than ever before.
Q6: Guidance for November:Eight of Swords
Overcoming fears and rising out of self-entrapment. As we move away from limiting circumstances and reach toward freedom and a life lived in alignment, we naturally find ourselves more readily able to leave the past behind, to move forward, and to let go. This month, we can support ourselves and our journey by noticing where our thoughts could be more productive, where we could visualize, imagine, and dream better things for ourselves, as our thoughts equal our point of attraction and like attracts like. Our thoughts become our reality, we are reminded, and as we strengthen our mental ability to focus in ways that help us to rise up and improve, it may benefit us most to consistently see ourselves in the state desired, no matter what the present reality looks like. We can treat it as a game to see how far up we can go, remembering at every step of the way that it can always be better and better and that things can always work out for us. Harnessing these as mantras serves us well. Some mantras for November might be: Everything is always getting better and better for me, all of the time. Everything is constantly improving for me. I thrive in all circumstances. I am grateful for my abundance.
Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim Image by Victoria Constantino
This tenth month of the year holds vibrant new possibilities. The number ten is all about completion. And where there is an ending, there is always a new beginning. Something new is in store and it’s up to us how we greet it. We may find it useful to visualize and focus where we want the energy to go, so it increases the momentum of what we want to manifest. In October, we can dream big and open our hearts wide to receive what is in alignment for us.
Q1: Overall energies for the month of October: Ten of Wands reversed
This month sees us releasing burdens and old energies, and generally clearing out what does not serve our highest good. While this can happen on levels we are not aware of, such as while we’re sleeping or in the form of subtle shifts in the subconscious, we can support this work by setting the intention to clear all that does not align with our highest good and welcoming in energies that are healthy and aligned for us. We may see situations shifting and things falling away as a natural part of the energetic work we’ve been doing. if we’ve been holding onto something that just isn’t moving forward, it may be time to let it go. As we release our grasp, what has been stagnant can flow. We’ll see more progress once we are able to truly let go on a heart level.
Q2: Week 1: Seven of Cups
This card asks us to consider what we’ve been spending our time focusing on and whether that is something we really want to allow to take up our headspace. We may unintentionally be making something unwanted bigger by giving it our attention. Those shifts mentioned above can also apply to the mindset, as this week our highest and best way forward may be to start focusing on what we do want to make bigger and on where we want to be. The message is to nevermind the getting there, as that’s not our work but that of the universe. This week, we may be called to consider our goals, refine them, and set new ones as we feel guided to do. Our intuition may have a little something it wants us to heed, some new directions it wants us to follow.
Q3: Week 2: The Hermit
Our guidance is calling us this week, and support is all around. It’s up to us when and whether we want to call on our allies and lean into our inner strength and wisdom. Going within can provide clarity and new understandings. An idea like a seed may be gestating, waiting for us to water it with our attention so it can sprout. To find it may require digging deep. Journaling, meditation, and otherwise going within will serve us well this week and perhaps, as we plunge into the depths, we will uncover a gemstone, something that can light our way and show us where it will benefit us to go. This week may call for a divine reset, and getting plenty of sleep will support us on all levels. We are opening up to new wisdom, new gifts and abilities that are part of our true essence. We may be finding the truth within now and seeing new facets of ourselves that help us to gain a greater understanding of who we are.
Q4: Week 3: The Emperor
The Emperor is strong, and his foundations are solid. We may be asked to lean into our innate wisdom this week, and to consider ways we can support the strengthening of our foundations. This week may see us headed toward greater security and we can support this by planning for our future and taking measures to ensure the comfort of our future selves and that we are provided for. Making plans and arrangements to support this is indicated, and we are also supported with this work this week and beyond. Energies are coming in to help us prepare for the road ahead and help us lean into our strength and wisdom so we can make the choices that will most benefit us now and in the days to come. The Emperor can represent a wise, strong leader we can lean on for support or look to for guidance. This person can show us that we have the ability to succeed, prosper, and grow.
Q5: Week 4: Ten of Pentacles
Business and career aspirations are supported now, as are financial planning and investing. The future holds something bright, and we have great abundance available to us now. As we drink from the well of gratitude this week, we may see our hopes, wishes, and dreams materialize before our eyes. Others may show us that we, too, can walk the path of abundance, whatever that means to us. We can allow ourselves to be inspired by our own dreams and hold the vision of our highest and best possibilities, wishes, hopes, and desires. We are allowed to want what we want, and it is good to want more for ourselves. It is good for our cup to be full and this week we may realize that we cannot fill the cup of others, or at least, not in any meaningful or lasting way; we each have to learn to fill our own cup. We can be the wayshower helping others as we live by example and align with our highest and best possibilities.
Q6: Guidance for October: Knight of Cups
An offer is at hand. Travel and adventure are indicated, as is going with the flow. This month, we can best serve our goals by allowing ourselves to get into the flow state and opening our hearts to receive. Something magnificent is waiting in the wings; it’s so close all we have to do is pull back the curtain and it’s there. We may be rekindling romance or reigniting the flame within our hearts that allows us to want more for ourselves, to fall in love with life again, to realize that there are no limits other than our own minds. It may be time to fling the doors to our hearts open wide and realize that every day holds bright possibilities. There is nothing we cannot do, be, or achieve, as long as we will allow ourselves to do it, to be it, to receive it.

Released this year in an updated 10th anniversary edition, The True Nature of Tarot by Diane Wingis an exploration of a beloved system of divination that continues to increase in popularity and widespread use. Prefaced by eight chapters filled with guidance and approaches for beginners and seasoned tarot readers alike, at the heart of the book is an index of interpretations for each card and a compendium of card combinations with possible meanings. Chock full of helpful information and insight, The True Nature of Tarot is a valuable guide for both professional tarot readers and seekers.
An understanding of tarot as “a dynamic tool that reflects where we are on the path,” Wing notes in the book, aids us through life as we grow and seek deeper wisdom. A tool for reflection, tarot offers a method for us to connect with the divine and the truth within, to understand ourselves on deeper levels so that, ultimately, we can discover our own answers. “The ultimate goal,” Wing writes, “is self-mastery, where you do not need to consult those external to you; you’ll be able to tap into your own intuition and your own sovereign judgment. When you master yourself, you master your destiny. It will no longer be a question of prophecy, but rather creative direction.” And part of the value of tarot is as a tool that can help us to achieve self-mastery. It is a tool for spiritual growth and development, something that can guide us on our path to self-sovereignty.
Spreads, approaches to reading and interpreting cards, detecting patterns in readings, and guidance on choosing a practitioner are some of the book’s highlights. Of exceptional value is the guidance on tuning into the intuition, psychic development, and preparation techniques such as grounding. The True Nature of Tarot is packed with useful information that evidences the author’s deep understanding of tarot derived from a decades-long practice. This is a book that belongs on any reader’s or seeker’s shelf.
