Healing and Eclipses: Finding the Light Within

This has been a busy year for planet Earth, and the solar system has been just as active. The planetary activity will have brought us a total of six eclipses—two solar and four lunar—by the close of 2020. The November 30 eclipse is a partial lunar eclipse, and the final eclipse of the year—a total solar eclipse—occurs on December 14. This year being heavier on the lunar side gives weight to our internal landscape. If you are not already on the healing journey, the universe could have plans for you.

The moon is associated with the feminine, the subconscious mind, and with our inner world. When the moon becomes full on November 30, it will be partially obscured by the shadow of the Earth. The moon’s magnetic pull informs the tides, and as our bodies contain so much water, we are affected as well. November’s full moon is in Gemini, whose symbol is the twins. This aspect of duality shines a light on partnership, and is echoed in the aspects of darkness and light. This lunar eclipse is focused on the connection between the human self and the higher self, or the physical self and the spirit. Because it is a partial or penumbral eclipse, the energies are somewhat lessened.

When we start to tune into our often complex interior world, we have the opportunity to gain infinite clarity and increased self-awareness. We are also afforded a chance to heal and release emotional weight and any baggage we have been carrying. We can set down unnecessary burdens and clear energies that do not serve us simply by setting the intention of doing so. The Gemini influence may ask us to consider our relationship with ourselves and with our spirituality. We may find ourselves objectively examining aspects of our lives and our ways of living, thinking, and being that we have not consciously considered before or that we have not explored in a long time. We may begin questioning our choices and habits of thought as we see better ways of thinking and being that not only serve our highest good, but that can advance us further along on our path.

We are guided to look within and think of ways we can improve on all levels. We always benefit by being aware of our thoughts and thinking positively. Because we create our own reality, every thought matters. We can always guide our thoughts toward something better, stepping up or improving every thought with a better and more positive one, much like we would climb a staircase one step at a time. This is a way of healing; it is healing through self-awareness. We are being asked at this time to shine a light on our mental landscape and see where we can shift from the negative to the positive. Where are we doing ourselves a disservice with negative thinking? How can we adopt a growth mindset? How can we see ourselves as our Source sees us? When we seek to perceive with crystal clarity and to gain in wisdom, the universe will surely answer.

Lunar eclipses create energetic resets. Symbolically and energetically, when the full moon passes through shadow and then through the other side to reveal its luminescence once again, it is like turning off a switch and then turning it back on again. Full moons are times of growth, healing, and powerful cleansing, and the eclipse amplifies those energies. Eclipses have a way of creating powerful shifts and breakthroughs in our lives. If we have been resisting change that needs to happen for our growth and improvement, the eclipse can act as a catalyst that will shake things up and create the change you have been resisting or that is for your betterment.

Solar eclipses occur on the new moon, and the December 14 eclipse will be in heady Sagittarius. During a solar eclipse, the sun is completely obscured. This period of darkness asks us to look within and encourages self-examination. We are asked to explore what isn’t working, how we want to move forward, and our goals and plans for the year ahead. This may be a time to consider where you want to be by the end of 2020, and what you want to accomplish by the end of 2021. Sagittarius brings influences of the intellect, and you may find it beneficial to consider paths to professional development, career advancement, and spiritual development. The solar eclipse may bring profound insights and understanding that can help you to advance by leaps and bounds and reach new levels of understanding.

Wherever you stood at the beginning of the year, and wherever you may be now, one thing is certain—by the end of 2020, you stand a very good chance of being a much different and more improved version of yourself. We are always on the way to somewhere, and the journey is eternal. We only have now; we only have each moment. Where we stand in every moment is a potential springboard to somewhere else. The question is, how high do you want to jump? How free do you want to be? How far will you let yourself soar?

December: A Reading for the Collective

Deck: Soul Cards by Kristine Fredheim

This month, we are asked to do the inner work, to heal and clear what does not serve us and send it into the light for transmutation. We are also asked to protect our energy and stay focused on our goals in order to receive the opportunities and manifestations that are waiting for us. This month carries a lot of opportunity, and we are guided to not let anything knock us off our path, no matter how challenging it may be. Read on to discover what each week holds and the overall guidance this month from the universe.

Q1: What is the overall energy of December? Three of Wands

The Three of Wands is a strong indicator of manifestations coming to us this month. This is also a time of profound growth and expansion. We have the opportunity to uplevel in many ways in our lives, all of which begin with the spiritual. As we allow more of what we want to come to us, it begins showing up in manifested form, whether through ideas, situations and circumstances, or physical objects. This is a time of great abundance, and as we align our beliefs with our desires, we can receive new manifestations and opportunities. The Three of Wands also guides us to continue working toward our goals and shows our efforts bearing fruit. We may begin reaping the rewards of our dedication and applied skill this month. As we shift our intentions toward our desires, hidden forces conspire to deliver to us the fruits of our asking. This month rewards goal-setting, self-expression, and creativity.

Q2: Week 1 energy: Four of Swords

Our guidance this week is to rest. By allowing ourselves some downtime, getting extra sleep, and relaxing, we create the time and space in which we can heal, which furthers our growth on every level. This week, as we release, clear, and process what does not serve us, we make room to let in the light. Relaxing and clearing our minds from any worries and stress, and reaching for things that make us feel happy, brings us into the receiving mode and allows what is good to flow to us. When we are in the flow state, we magnetize good things to us and receive answers to our questions, along with clarity, new ideas, and physical manifestations. Jumping off the mental hamster wheel this week will allow for a reset. On the other side of it, we will be able to easily and quickly find better ideas and think with greater clarity and positivity. There is an aspect this week of clearing energetic blockages around the mental and emotional bodies in our auric field. Spending time in meditation and visualizing golden light around us and within us can help to clear and transmute those energies and fill and strengthen our field with more light. This protects us, energizes us, and prepares us to better handle what comes next.

Q3: Week 2 energy: Five of Wands

Fives indicate change and wands are associated with the will, motivation, passion, inspiration, drive, and manifestation. Our goals may be shifting this week and we may begin seeing things in a new light. Our ideas may be gathering momentum and reaching a fulcrum point on which they will pivot. We may start seeing expansion and changes in unexpected ways, as well as movement in situations that were previously stagnant, or even those that we thought were steady and stable. Aspects that were on pause could now begin to move and shift. New challenges could make themselves known this week; we can choose to look at them as opportunities, and they may in fact be blessings in disguise. Unexpected changes are flowing this week and it may be best to go with the flow and take the path of least resistance, as a detour may lead us to just the place we never knew we wanted to go. When we find ourselves there, we may realize it was better than anything we were expecting or had asked for.

Q4: Week 3 energy: Seven of Swords

It may be of critical importance this week to stay focused on our goals and not let anything sway us from our path. In the face of challenges, we can choose to let ourselves be knocked off our path or to stay the course. We are guided to keep coming back to our truth and to protect our boundaries. Remaining aware of the intentions of others and knowing who we can trust and whom we should guard ourselves against can play into the events of this week. Remember that you can determine the people you allow into your personal space. Knowing when to distance yourself from others and becoming aware of false motives from those who pass themselves off as genuine could be of the utmost importance now. It may be necessary to create stronger boundaries around yourself and to protect your energy, as not all visitors are welcome, and not all visitors are physical. Striving to move forward with integrity in all that you do and maintaining your integrity are also highlighted. We are asked to proceed with truth and clarity and remember who we truly are—divine beings sourced from pure, positive energy.

Q5: Week 4 energy: Temperance

This could be a good week to set a budget and stick to it. Practicing frugality is highlighted, as is planning ahead for the future, both financially and otherwise. Looking at the resources you have with gratitude rather than looking at what you don’t have with regret will bring you more of what you appreciate. We are asked to be aware of our vibration this week. Abraham-Hicks notes that sometimes, when we think we are focused on the thing we want, we are actually focused (vibrationally) on its absence. This week, we are guided to call on our allies to help promote greater balance, harmony, and peace in our lives, minds, and hearts. Calling on our allies for assistance is a good supplement to doing the work—of healing, meditation, and any other internal work we are focused on, such as changing our mindset to one of positivity and shifting our expectations to the positive. Know that you are worthy and deserving of everything you desire, and remember that you are a powerful creator who is shaping your reality from moment to moment simply by your focused thought and intention.

Q6: Guidance from the universe for December: Ace of Wands

The Ace of Wands guides us to expect positive outcomes and is a strong indicator of new opportunities, adventures, developments, and manifestations coming to us this month. We are asked not to let anything or anyone distract us or get in our way—not challenges, nor disappointments, nor upsets of any kind. This month, we would benefit from maintaining our focus on our dreams, goals, and desires and taking action toward making them happen when it feels right to take it. When we begin to second-guess ourselves or start to doubt our ideas, we may be killing something beautiful before it ever has a chance to blossom. We may see opportunities where we least expect them this week, and we are asked to be open to possibilities we may never have considered before. This month’s energy supports new beginnings, fresh starts, and creative opportunities.

Ritual and Intention

When we want to create a certain outcome, we begin by focusing on what we want. This is a way of setting intentions. Because we are powerful creators of our own reality, and our thoughts become things, intentions are a key aspect of manifesting change. The more deliberate we are about what we want and the more carefully we choose our thoughts, the more streamlined our focus will be, which allows our desires to materialize more rapidly. We may choose to supplement our intention with ritual because it is a part of our practice, or because it is a means of honoring our allies. Some choose to perform rituals because it is a way of working with intention in the physical world. Writing down what we desire, for example, on a sheet of paper and burning it releases our intentions to the universe.

Most of us participate in rituals in some form. Holiday traditions are often accompanied by rituals like specific songs or foods. Performing these rituals shifts our energy and the energy around us by helping us to focus in a certain way. When we express our gratitude during Thanksgiving, for example, we are honoring and appreciating certain things by giving them our attention, which draws more similar energies to us. Certain holiday dances are ways of expressing joy. Sports rituals can honor a certain team and can focus on a specific desired outcome for a game. Rituals can be elaborate or bare-bones simple; they can be timeless or created in a sudden burst of inspiration.

Accoutrements like tarot and oracle cards are simply tools we can use to tune into the universal energy that is all around us. In ritual, we often use objects like specific colors, crystals, and incense as ways of helping to shift the energy, concretize our intentions by making them physical (like writing down goals and desired outcomes), and to set a mood or create a sacred space. Because physical objects have certain energetic properties, they can support the energy behind our intentions as we work toward making them manifest in the physical world. Cinnamon and bay leaves are associated with wealth; rose quartz brings self-love; sandalwood supports us in protection and healing. Whether or not you choose to supplement the energy of your intention with physical objects and actions is a matter of personal preference. Ultimately, all we really need is intention and intuition.

November: A Reading for the Collective

True to form, the eleventh month of one of the most transformative years in history promises more change. The number eleven represents a gateway energy; the two ones side by side look like a door, and eleven symbolizes the transitory mechanism as one reality transitions into another, or one type of energy transmutes into another, higher form. All of the cards representing the energies for each week in this month are Major Arcana. This tells of karmic, life-changing, and fated events. Some of these events may have to do with our life path, purpose, and soul mission. We can expect powerful changes—sea changes—to happen for us this month. Some may be unexpected, and some may be less than welcome, but know that all is a part of everything working out for your highest good.

Q1: What is the overall energy of November? Seven of Wands

The Seven of Wands is a reminder to stand strong and remain courageous. It tells us that we have what it takes to be victorious as we face any challenges head-on and fight for what we believe in. When we push through, one step at a time, toward our goals, always focusing on the outcome we want and keeping it in mind, we ensure that we are steadily getting closer to achieving our desired results. We can accomplish anything we desire with perseverance, and belief in ourselves is a powerful ingredient that commands our success.

Know that you have what it takes to win any battles and to overcome every challenge, and that you can always draw from the well of inner strength that comes from the magnificent, limitless part of who you really are. And you are never fighting alone; you can always call on your allies in the nonphysical for their support. Your team in spirit is always there for you, but because they cannot interfere with your free will, you have to ask them for their help. Know that you are divinely loved and supported, and you are never alone. Your team of light is always on your side, always loving you, ready and willing to help when you call on them.

Q2: Week 1 energy: The Devil

This card signifies the old structures of control, and the darkness and chaos that is rising to the surface to be cleared. Light is already dominant on our planet, although if we are just looking at what isn’t working, we can miss seeing what is working (and working beautifully). This earth continues on its trajectory, and we stay grounded to it, living our lives and continuing to manifest, create, and seed new desires as we set intentions for improved conditions and continue to co-create a better life and a better world for ourselves and others.

We won’t get what we want by focusing on what we don’t want, and this card is a reminder, together with the Seven of Wands, to summon the great strength and courage that is within every one of us to stay focused on the positive, even in the midst of the darkness. We are asked to always look to the light, to celebrate what is good and joyful and happy. We are asked to keep love in our hearts, to look on others with compassion, and to realize that we are all one. Separation is an illusion. As more and more of us focus on improved conditions and celebrate the beauty in our lives and everything that is worth appreciating, we strengthen and give energy and momentum to the light.

Q3: Week 2 energy: The World

As the final card in the Major Arcana, The World is a card of victory, success, and congratulations. We have been on a journey that may have been long and arduous, and this card shows us reaching a place of enlightenment. This card is a reminder that we are all in this together. When we lift one another up, we rise much faster. Our world is reaching the end of a cycle, and in our own lives, we may see this play out as certain aspects come to a close and new ones begin to flow in. This card represents fulfillment and the mastery of lessons. We have reached new understandings, gained significant wisdom, and have come to know ourselves on deeper and deeper levels. The more we understand ourselves, the better we can understand our place in the world, serve others, and fulfill our life path and purpose in more meaningful, long-lasting ways.

Q4: Week 3 energy: The Chariot

The Chariot showed up for us last month in week 2, and its energy carries over into this month—it’s go time, this card seems to indicate. We are still being guided to stay the course and keep our focus on where we are going, not where we have been, and certainly not on where we don’t want to be. We are being asked to relentlessly keep our eyes on our desired destination so that we can be sure to reach it without straying from the path. Let’s continue to move ahead, move up, move forward, and honor and acknowledge our progress and accomplishments along the way. As we look around us in gratitude, appreciating the things we like about our lives and circumstances, we invite more of that energy—whether abundance, joy, or fulfillment—to flow to us.

This card can also indicate that things are moving quickly. Travel, moving, and transportation may be lining up for some of you. The Chariot hints, too, at opposing forces; we may need to stay strong and stick to our ethics, principles, and ideals yet remain attuned to our intuition so that we are not stubbornly holding onto something that doesn’t actually serve us just because it once did. Part of the process of growth is expanding beyond old beliefs, habits, and ways of thinking and doing, and sometimes that means walking away from what isn’t serving you anymore. It is important to know when to stick to our principles and when to let go of something and expand our minds and our energies into greater awareness. Sometimes this card can indicate a conflict within; the opposing forces may be between old beliefs and new ones coming in. Spending time in thought and in journaling can help you sort it out. When this card relates to willpower, you may need to take control over a situation or circumstances in your life. Like the Seven of Wands—and The Chariot is the seventh card in the Major Arcana—it can be guidance to stand strong and to fight for what you believe in.

Q5: Week 4 energy: The Hermit

After the battle, we go within. The Hermit can be like a healing chamber. This week, we are asked to practice self-care and introspection. Journaling, walks in nature, and time spent in the sun can be beneficial. If the battles we have been fighting this month have been mental or emotional, we need to take time to rest our minds this week and process what we’ve experienced to gain further clarity and understanding. The Hermit is a wise one who represents solitude and inner wisdom. Spending time alone to regroup and gather your thoughts will help you. The Hermit can also represent a guide figure, like a guardian, angel, or guide, and seeing this card can be a nudge or a reminder to call on your allies to assist you with whatever you need, whether that is healing, clarity, or emotional support.

Q6: Guidance from the Universe for November: Queen of Swords

Make no mistake—this queen speaks her mind and she comes to advise us this month to cut through the bull, to speak our minds, and to be done with playing small, once and for all. Those days are past, and we are advised to never, ever look back. She comes to say, remember who you are. Speak your truth. Stand in your light. Stay strong and be relentlessly positive, no matter what you are facing. You have what it takes to succeed in all that you do. Know that you have an inner power you can draw on, and an inner strength the likes of which would amaze you. We are powerful, at the core of who we are, and our power is beyond measure. Rise up in joy, in confidence, and in love, because in those energies is the greatest power of all and the truth of who we are.

Our Light Is Needed Now More than Ever

Love and light are two words we often see together, and they can mean different things to different people. Abraham-Hicks refers to our true nature as “pure liquid love.” Love is us; as Source-energy beings, love is who we are at our very core. I see love and light as the source of truth and the conduit of the divine, as the wellspring from which everything grows. Love and light are so important right now because they represent one of the highest states in which we can live, be, and approach our interactions with others. It can take great strength to stay in our light during these times, and profound alignment to be the light when we are witnessing others who may be acting out of alignment with their highest nature, or who are simply unaware. It requires unconditional love to love people no matter what their behavior or choices. To not judge, to remain neutral, is often the best path we can take, understanding that we are all one, part of the same being each expressed individually, each having our experience, and each with our own understanding, mission, path, and purpose for this lifetime.

Author and medium Sara Wiseman recently shared a channeled message in which she talks about the energetic shifts that are taking place on the planet, and how there is a lot of deep ancestral karmic clearing taking place, as well as karmic clearing from our individual past lives. Many of us are here—on this planet at this time—for this very reason, and it is part of our soul contract to help shift and clear this energy from our lineage and from the planet. This is a time in which all high-vibrational hands are on deck, as the earth is supported and surrounded with allies who are helping to shift, clear, and transmute the old paradigms and heavy energies of fear, control, and lack, and to clear all energies necessary to support the ascension of Gaia and her inhabitants to establish a new, bright earth. As these heavier energies are passing out of our reality and clearing, it is important for us to remain in the highest-vibrational state possible at all times, to hold the light, to choose joy, to honor our right to freedom and independence, and to treat others with kindness.

Spiritual teacher and medium Amanda Ellis recently shared a YouTube video in which she talks about the importance of focusing on high-vibrational energies like compassion, love, peace, truth, and clarity. She points out that we are what we focus on. It isn’t just that our thoughts create our reality—we become our thoughts. We—our minds and our lives—are the direct result of what we choose to focus on and think about. What we give our attention to grows. What we nurture grows. We attract what we vibrate. We live in a vibrational universe, and everything is energy, which is why it is so important to be aware of our own energy and of what we choose to give our thoughts and attention to.

Now is the time to step into radical energetic awareness. It is crucial for us to be hyper-vigilant of what we allow into our vibration, which is directly affected by what we think about, focus on, read, talk about, and listen to. We must be “relentlessly positive,” to use a phrase I heard recently. As a collective, we are creating a collective reality, and what we are seeing in our reality is a result of this collaborative manifestation. Because of the duality that is present on our planet, there is a push and pull. Holding the light, keeping our vibration high, is now more important than ever. It’s time for us to step into our freedom and sovereignty, and into peace. As a collective we have evolved to this point, and it’s up to us where we go from here.

If you are a lightworker, a wayshower, a spiritual teacher, or have spiritual abilities of any kind, you most likely already know you are here on this planet during this time for a reason. Those specific reasons will vary from person to person. To hold peace, bliss, and unity consciousness, knowing we are all one and maintaining non-judgment, sending love, light, and healing to all, is one of the highest choices we can make. This community of people are here to lift up humanity, to help raise the consciousness of the planet and elevate the human race into higher awareness and improved ways of life. One way we can help is by sending positive energy and intentions of healing, peace, divine wisdom, love, and awareness to those we feel called to send these energies to, or to the entire planet. When we do this, it is important to set the intention that these energies are received according to the highest good of all and to the greatest extent to which each individual is willing to receive, to respect the free will of others.

We are all here to create and we have an infinite palette of possibilities at our disposal. Let’s create something beautiful.

An Interview with Kristine Fredheim

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Kristine Fredheim, creator of the Soul Cards tarot. As it is easily my favorite deck and the one I use exclusively for my daily tarot draws on social media, I thought it would be nice to take a look behind the scenes and gain a bit of insight on its creation to discover what could have inspired such a beautiful deck.

Q: Please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background.

A: I am an acclaimed psychic medium, spiritual advisor, and writer. I have a Master’s degree in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and launched Soul Life in 2014 to help people connect with their spirituality, find hope, heal, and achieve their full potential.

At a young age, I discovered I had the ability to see the past, present, and future, as well as connect with loved ones who have passed on. With these experiences and insights, I authored two books, entitled Behind My Face and The Ring Power, and have been a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. I have been featured in Elle, Forbes, Teen Vogue, and the Jenny McCarthy Show, among many others, and I advise some of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.

I have also always had a passion for investigating unsolved crimes. I am currently working on projects that harness my psychic intuition and mediumship abilities to help uncover key clues and make crucial discoveries to solve missing persons and murder cases, among others.

In 2019, I launched my own line of tarot card decks entitled Soul Cards in memory of my late mother, who introduced me to spirituality. I’m a loving mother to two young boys.

Q: Could you talk a little more about the inspiration behind the Soul Cards deck?

A: My mom was the one who introduced me to spirituality and she brought the decks out on the kitchen table when I was nine. She had just divorced my dad. It became a thing we bonded with together, but I always thought the tarot cards were weird and crazy-looking. So when my mom passed away in 2012, I wanted to create something in her memory and rebrand spirituality at the same time! That‘s how the Soul Cards were born.

Q: Do you read tarot for yourself?

A: I do tarot for myself every day. And every Sunday, I do a tarot reading to see how my week will look, what kind of energy will be present for each day. I love this little ritual and I often do tarot if I have questions or if I’m wondering something about my personal life. They always serve me with clarity!

Q: As a psychic medium, what value do you find in tarot?

A: The value I find is just validation really, and it’s also a lot of fun!

Q: Would you say there is a point at which someone on the spiritual path might want to shift away from tarot to tap into energy instead as their abilities develop, or do you think tarot always has value, no matter where we are on our path?

A: I always think tarot has value. It’s important not to use it as a crutch, but rather to create a balance to practice your intuition while using the cards.

Q: Tarot cards have a variety of meanings and nuances. What advice would you give for interpreting the messages of the cards?

A: I honestly didn’t even want to have descriptions on the website because I wanted people to follow their intuition while using the cards and learn that way. I was voted down big time. I believe that the meaning you give each card will serve you. Theres no right or wrong meaning; the cards will give you the messages still.

Daily Tarot Draws

Pulling a card at the beginning of the day can offer a glimpse of what lies ahead. Just as you might choose to begin your day with a few quiet moments spent in reflection or meditation, doing breathwork, connecting to divine guidance, journaling, or repeating affirmations, tarot can support a practice of mindfulness. The beauty of tarot is that it is as versatile as the intention you apply to it. We can ask the cards anything, after all.

If you practice meditation or yoga, you may find it helpful to do those first before tuning into the cards. If yoga, meditation, or some other method of quieting the mind is not part of your routine, you may find it beneficial to first sit with quiet intention as you hold the cards. You can ask a specific question, and you can also pull a card that reflects the overall energies of the day ahead. It is important to remember that the information you receive isn’t set in stone; it can change just as your choices can change. The card you draw is a reflection of one possible outcome. Remember that you are a powerful creator of your own reality, so if you receive an answer you’re not satisfied with, set the intention for what you would like to see happen. You can always ask for further guidance by pulling more cards after setting your intention and fine-tune the unfolding as you plan your ideal day.

Following this practice with visualization can be helpful. Sitting for even 5 or 10 minutes imagining—really seeing and feeling—the outcome you desire can be so powerful. Doing this daily can be life-changing. We can focus on a long-term goal, and use every day to take one step closer to that goal. A day at a time, a step at a time, we move closer to realizing our goals. Tarot can be valuable in answering our questions about possible outcomes as well. But it is important to remember to always tune into your intuition above all. How you feel about something is your emotional barometer and tells you whether something is a good idea or not.

Ultimately, we can never precisely predict the future, but we can prepare ourselves energetically. Setting intentions for what we want to happen is a powerful tool that we all have at our disposal. We can look at tarot like an ally, much like crystals are allies. Tarot can support us in tapping into the energies at hand as we make use of the power of our will to create the change we desire.

October: A Reading for the Collective

If one word could sum up 2020, it’s change. As we enter October, many of us are keenly aware that there are only three months left in the year. Years are energetic containers, which is why we can look back on some years and see prominent themes that applied to that specific year. It is the same with decades—every decade seems to hold its own style, theme, and personality. One of the more enjoyable aspects of doing these monthly readings is analyzing each month and exploring what that particular segment of time, or energetic container, might hold. What’s in store for October? What will the Universe deliver over the next four weeks? Here’s what the cards have to say.

Q1: What is the overall energy of October? Ace of Swords

This month brings clarity, new ideas, and fresh perspectives. We may have breakthrough ideas. Situations that have seemed stuck, blocked, or stagnant will suddenly start moving forward with ease and flow. The floodgates may open and bring a rush of inspiration and movement—energies that The Chariot in week 2 also supports. This month, remain open to inspiration and new ways of looking at things.

Q2: Week 1 energy: The Moon

To facilitate the flow of energy the Ace of Swords heralds, The Moon tells us that we first need to look within and spend time in introspection. Introspective work is the phrase that comes to mind. We are being guided to look closely and see beyond our shadows. Often, when we really look at fears and deeply held beliefs, we realize that the fears are flimsy, mere illusions that do not serve us, and that we have moved beyond some of those deeply held beliefs into new understanding. A close look can reveal things we were not aware we were still holding onto or that we did not realize were there. This awareness allows us to process and release anything not in alignment with our highest good. This is the work—intentionally examining what we need to let go of and replacing it with new thoughts, beliefs, and intentions that do serve us. I can’t becomes I can and I am capable and I am worthy. This is the work that allows us to move forward and makes room for the breakthrough ideas and inspiration that are in the offing throughout the month. The Moon can also bring forth enhanced creative abilities, intuition, imagination, and psychic abilities.

Q3: Week 2 energy: The Chariot

The Chariot represents a fast-moving energy. Hold onto the reins this week and maintain focus as you navigate, course-correcting as needed to ensure you stay on your path. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial factors to succeeding and moving ever-closer to your goals. Realizing that we are always on a path, and the path is never-ending as every place is a stop along the way on an eternal journey, may be key to really rooting into the importance of living in the now and enjoying where you are as much as possible in every moment. When we can find the joy in the moment, we can reach for a continually better-feeling place so that we rise up and allow more good to flow into our lives. Opening up to this joy is key to receiving the good we have been asking for. Finding inner stability, a place of solace, wisdom, and groundedness, a calm center of focus is important when things are shifting and in the face of rapid movement and change. Know when to reach for the still place within, and know that it is a place you can always turn to. The ability to find the joy in the moment is a way of coming into harmony as life’s chariot hurtles onward.

Q4: Week 3 energy: The Empress

The Empress celebrates beauty, creativity, and the pleasures of the material world, and finds joy in abundance. Her power as a leader can be connected to the home or to business. This week, look for themes related to feminine authority and leadership, which can include mothers and maternal figures, mature women, and female business leaders who may impact or influence you in some way. Seeds may sprout this week that you planted earlier; those that do will see growth and favorable outcomes when consistently tended and nurtured with care. This card can sometimes point to opportunities to strengthen relationships with women in your life who fit the role of The Empress; these relationships are well worth tending and yield emotional rewards. The Empress is connected to Venus, indicating that love may be on the horizon or could enter your life this week. Venus is also associated with pleasure and beauty, which may come into fruition this week in some form or another.

Q5: Week 4 energy: Page of Cups

Following on the heels of The Empress, who can represent creativity, the Page of Cups often indicates undeveloped creativity, in the form of potential creative abilities or new ideas in the beginning stages. Cups represent emotions, and pages are young and inexperienced; as such, the Page of Cups can indicate an underdeveloped self-esteem, lack of confidence, lack of boundaries, openness, or being naive. Sometimes, the page can represent a person who embodies these qualities or who is young or inexperienced. This card can point to the need to establish stronger boundaries, trust yourself more, belief in yourself, and quit looking to others for approval or permission. It can also appear when you are relying on others for validation or for happiness. If this is the case, coming back to who you are and strengthening your boundaries and your sense of self is encouraged. When this card indicates creativity and new projects, it can encourage you to develop ideas and talents. This can be done by practicing to further develop and refine skills, and by learning more about a subject. When it comes to new projects and ideas, this card can be encouragement to pursue them and to do what is needed to bring them to the next stage of development. Continually elevating ideas, projects, and talents is done one step at a time, and consistency, focus, and practice help them to bear fruit.

Guidance from the Universe for October: The Magician

The energies this month are generative and supportive of new ideas (the Ace of Swords) and undertakings (the Page of Cups and The Empress). These energies are like fertilizer, and The Magician is us—we are the ones who plant the seeds, water and tend them, and apply the fertilizer to help them grow. As creators of our own realities, we are the architects of our own lives. We call our own shots. With confidence (Page of Cups), and having done the inner work (The Moon), we strengthen our ability to manifest. We get what we expect. If we expect good things to happen to us, they will. If we are strong in the belief that, for example, everything is always working out for us, then it will. The Magician comes to remind us of these truths. Confidence, knowing, belief, and expectation are so powerful, and the Universe is letting us know that these serve us especially well this month. This year has already brought powerful, profound, and deeply life-changing manifestations, and the year is not over yet. We are living in a time of rapid manifestation. That, combined with the knowing that our thoughts create our realities, and that we have the ability to focus our thoughts, and cause energy to flow in the direction of our thinking, is everything we need to know. We always have the ability to write our own destiny, and to rewrite our beliefs simply by choosing our thoughts. The Magician is encouragement from the Universe to make the most of the powerfully supportive energies this month by focusing our will, our thoughts, and our intentions on what we want, and not giving a moment’s thought to what we don’t want.

Changes and Transitions

Autumn, tree in fall

Gone are the bright, airy blooms of spring and the swollen fruits of summer. The season we are now entering into is one of preparation. Its fruits are hearty and meant to sustain us through the cold and barren months, the period of dormancy when nature slumbers on the surface as deeper transformations occur, unseen, beneath the surface in the dark womb of earth, in the hearth of winter’s becoming. In this time before the chill begins to bite, we cast off what has had its day and draw near to us what will sustain us. We welcome those we hold dear in close conversation and heart-centered communion.

As I write this, fall is only days away in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Southern Hemisphere is preparing to enter a season of growth. All of life is flowing in an ancient dance as one season merges into the next with perfect harmony and fluidity. Change can sometimes be this seamless for us, one step leading to another in a natural progression. We may look up one day and suddenly realize how much our lives have changed, although the process has been gradual. This year especially has been one of unprecedented transformation. Often, periods of intense change are accompanied by major growth. Collectively and individually, we are experiencing rapid transformations and powerful personal and spiritual shifts.

The transition of summer into autumn is beautiful for us to witness, and we do well to honor our own personal changes with as much reverence. We can take a few cues from nature by navigating those changes gracefully, flowing with the transitions in our lives without resisting them, honoring the improvements the shifts are bringing, uncomfortable as they may be. When we do this, not only do we have a much more enjoyable experience, we also open ourselves to receive much greater benefit by being in the energy of allowing. Rather than blocking the energies that are flowing to us with our resistance, we are flowing with them by allowing them to work for our betterment.

Fall is a great opportunity for us to focus our intentions as we work toward creating positive change in our lives—the seasonal energy is supporting this. Now is the time to make major changes, launch new creative and business endeavors, and plan for improvements of all kinds. Whether we realize it or not, we are impacted by the energies all around us, including the transition from one season to the next. In autumn, nature itself is clearing out what has served its purpose, and what has lived its full season. This is a time to clear the deadwood, energetically and physically. To encourage positive change in our lives, it is important to first make room for it by clearing what does not serve us. Clearing starts the energy flowing to us and around us in healthy, beneficial ways.

We can benefit from clearing clutter from our physical environment (which is a great Feng shui practice that is beneficial to do year-round). This could mean riffling through your closet and donating things you haven’t worn in the past year or going through paperwork, files, and email and clearing out what is no longer necessary. These physical actions create shifts that usher out stagnant energies to make room for what is fresh and new and allows the energy to flow in positive ways.

It is also important to clear ourselves energetically. There are so many ways to do this, but bathing in Epsom salts and grounding are great practices to incorporate into your routine. You can also visualize white or golden light surrounding you and the spaces you live in while setting the intention that the light purifies the energy and creates a powerful forcefield of protection around you and your loved ones, pets, home, and property. You can expand this light out to your neighborhood, community, city, and beyond—even visualizing it wrapping around the entire planet to bring peace, healing, and light to all.

As we prepare energetically for the path that lies before us, it is important to stay centered and focused on what truly matters, both in the now and as we visualize the best possible outcomes that we would like to enter into as we continually move forward.

September: A Reading for the Collective

September brings exciting new beginnings as both fresh and long-awaited manifestations are coming into being. New partnerships and collaborations, as well as joyful celebrations with friends and community are all an important part of this month. Read on to find out what each week has in store for us, and for the guidance and overall energy that will carry us through the weeks ahead.

Q1: What is the overall energy of September? Page of Wands

The Page of Wands shows us learning to wield our power in new ways. We may be focusing on specific manifestations this month. Remembering that where thoughts go, energy flows can be useful, especially in light of the fact that what we think about informs our vibration, which in turn attracts more of the same to us. As Wands are associated with the element of fire, this suit is connected to our passion. What are you passionate about and what steps do you feel motivated to take? Paying attention to what feels good, what thrills you, can provide an indication of your next steps. This Page also indicates new beginnings and fresh starts. You may see new relationships, career-related goals, things, and circumstances that you’ve long wished for begin to show up this month. Watch as the seeds you planted, some long ago and some recently, begin to sprout. Be open to learning new things and to new possibilities. You are gaining footing in new and significant areas of your life.

Q2: Week 1 energy: Seven of Swords

A tarot reader once described this card to me as having a vacillating energy that can appear sometimes when we are caught up in indecision or when we are waffling back and forth. If you find yourself in that energy, it is important to really tune in and pay attention to your inner guidance as you lean into trusting yourself more. Watch for situations that show you areas of weakness, either in your thinking, emotions, or in your self-confidence. Believing in yourself and moving forward with inner strength, determination, and in the knowing of your worthiness brings you closer to your true inner power. Remember that you are a divine, magnificent being. You are truly powerful, and knowing your true inner strength and power opens up a world of possibilities. Life offers us a great palette of choices, and it is up to us what we choose to paint. Paying attention to what feels good can be helpful as you navigate choices; your emotional guidance system, as Abraham-Hicks refers to it, is a built-in mechanism that shows you which way to go.

Q3: Week 2 energy: Two of Cups

The Two of Cups points to emotional partnerships. This can be the co-creative partnership between you and your higher self. It can also indicate fruitful connections and emotional relationships between significant others, friends, family, co-workers, and employers. For some of you, a new job or career advancement may be on the horizon. New relationships are developing and existing ones are growing and reaching new levels. Nurturing relationships and connections is always beneficial, but especially so this week. Bonds are strengthening and deep healing may be taking place between you and others, especially in your emotional connections to one another. Honor those in your life simply by feeling into gratitude for the relationship, and that energy will not only be felt by the other, it will also be returned to you and will strengthen the energies between you.

Q4: Week 3 energy: Temperance

Be wise and practice discernment in all that you do. Connecting to your intuition and holding the intention of achieving a state of harmony will support you this week. Foster harmonious relationships by first embodying harmony in your thinking, and peace will follow. Practice patience with others and redirect your thoughts and energy toward compassion if you catch yourself in a judgmental space. Unity consciousness is important, and remembering that we all are one can be powerful; as each one of us is part of the collective, what one of us experiences is felt by all on some level. Reach for kindness and cooperation in your dealings with others, and be kind to yourself. Happy resolutions to long-stagnant situations may pleasantly surprise you. Look within this week and notice where inner growth is needed. Self-awareness is key as you navigate through life; notice where life is showing you opportunities for growth as you set your ego aside and make the decision to elevate your thinking and vibration, taking it moment by moment, situation by situation. As the number 14 card in the Major Arcana, Temperance is aligned with the creation of solid foundations: the number one indicates new beginnings and manifestations, and four carries the energies of strength, solidity, stability, and groundedness; by embodying harmony and peace, we create the outward manifestation of these, which sets us on solid ground and establishes strong foundations for our future.

Q5: Week 4 energy: Three of Cups

The Three of Cups has a celebratory energy that builds on the partnership energies of the Two of Cups from week 2, and on the energies of harmony and cooperation from week 3. This feels like a culmination of positive momentum that has been building throughout the month and reaches a happy fulfillment of celebratory energy and harmonious resolutions. This week ushers in fall in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and celebrations and gatherings are highlighted. Community, friends, family, and joyful collaborations are a significant part of this week. It is important to make time for happiness and fun, and allow yourself to enjoy the feelings of fulfillment. Soak in the nurturing energies of emotional warmth and joy, and allow them to strengthen and elevate your vibration. The more you raise your vibration, the higher you can soar.

Q6: Guidance from the Universe for September: King of Pentacles

The King of Pentacles carries the energies of power, strength, and material success. Much like the numerological interpretation of Temperance, this king also indicates solidity and stability. This is a very fortunate card to draw, and it informs the entire month of September. As the guidance card for the month, it encourages us to embody the energies and mindset this king represents. Embodiment of those energies can manifest in a variety of ways, whether that is practicing gratitude for job security, focusing on your leadership abilities, knowing that you are capable of manifesting wealth and financial security, appreciating figures of support in your life, or knowing your own strength. This card can also encourage us to take the long view and consider where investing in our future now might pay dividends later. As seeds are starting to sprout, start considering now the most fruitful outcomes and think about the highest and best possibilities for all that is becoming.
