The Importance of Healing Emotional Wounds

It’s so easy to leave a hurtful or difficult experience unprocessed and simply shift our attention to things that make us feel better or distract us or otherwise help us to forget, at least temporarily, about the pain or discomfort around the situation. Most of us are so good at doing this that we do it automatically. It’s important to be aware that the energy of an experience and the emotions around it don’t automatically go away. That energy can be lodged in our vibration until we shine a light on it by focusing our attention on the experience or situation and feel the emotional impact of it in order to process it. Holding the intention of shifting it out of our vibration and healing from it is a simple but powerful way of releasing something that does not serve us. For energies that are lodged more deeply or that are heavier, this begins the process of clearing them from us. Setting the intention of clearing, releasing, and transmuting (healing) the energies moves them away from us and ensures they do not return.

As we clear and release old energies, a funny thing happens. The more we release what doesn’t serve us, the more room we make for what does. The release shifts our vibration powerfully and increases our ability to draw to us more of what we want, as long as we keep our attention and intentions focused on what we desire to bring into our experience rather than looking at negatives and the things we don’t want. It is a gradual process that happens one clearing at a time but has a powerful cumulative effect. Starting the process now and continuing it every time an unpleasant emotion or memory arises will carry you on a powerful path of healing that leads you to the best version of yourself.

Awareness is essential. Notice when an unpleasant memory or feeling comes up and know that it is arising because it is ready to be released. This is a great opportunity to clear it out of your experience. You can simply sit with the feeling or memory and set the intention that you keep any lessons from the experience that serve your highest good and release the rest. This can be an emotional process as you sit with something unpleasant or uncomfortable. The key is to release it—to let it go with forgiveness to yourself and forgiveness to others. Forgiving others releases you from any harmful connections and from your attachment to the situation. Forgiving yourself is so important, as you can’t really move on from something until you’ve done this. Call on your highest-vibrational allies to support you with this process if you like.

Remember that you are powerful and that true power comes from alignment with the highest energies: compassion, love, peace, bliss, wisdom, grace.
